I’ve been enjoying how the latest storyline for Alice has turned out. To sum it up, Joanne went to a movie with Dot’s brother Donny, and Alice and Dot decided to “chaperon” them. Naturally enough, they’ve been busted, and Joanne in a fit of pique went and kissed Donny, turning him from a nice enough chap to a babbling idiot.

Hey, I remember being turned into a brainwarping fool from a mere kiss. It’s fun! Your hormones just start bubbling out through your ears and you can’t remember what you were thinking from moment to moment, just the feeling of those lips against yours. Unfortunately(?), I was a bit older with my first kiss like that.

And of course, it’s amusing watching Joanne go from angry to (after the apology) semi-cheerful and then apologetic in turn because… well, she broke Dot’s brother. And Alice’s response (about alien viruses) is classic Alice. I hope even when she grows up, that she never “grows up” because that sense of imagination and splendor is just so fun to watch.
