Red String

February 10th, 2006 by Tangent

Aftershocks continue in the wake of Red String, with Fuuko being outed in her preference of girls… and then moving out. Rather than go a route with the “plucky heroine” being accepted and all that… we instead had Fuuko’s parents moving because of her dad’s job, and things left in the air, except that Maya realized that she liked Fuuko… and realizing that this friendship was more important than popularity. However, Red String is about more than just friends and relationships… it’s also about repercussions. Just because Fuuko has left doesn’t mean what happened in the past is going to vanish. Unlike so many other comics… things change in Red String. There is no “status quo” here, and that’s something more comics should try doing.
