WindRunners
Today saw the launch of WindRunners, a new story by Christopher Brudlos, writer of the award-winning epic comic Alpha Shade, and artist Rose Loughran. WindRunners tells a tangential story set in the same world as Alpha Shade, and follows a band of smugglers who find themselves caught up in the events leading up to the outbreak of war. WindRunners is said to take place concurrently to the events in AS, and is set to update weekly on Wednesdays. Once more comics are up, this comic will definitely be getting a proper review, but the combination of Brudlos’ confirmed skills as a storywriter and the beautiful art with a combination of painted and inked art, this strip promises to be a worthy sister strip to Alpha Shade.
Addendum: After just a couple of updates, WindRunners came to a sudden end, due to the artist being unable to commit to the comic long-term. You’d think I’d have learned not to review comics until they’ve updated for a while, even if they’re associated with long-running strips (or regular artists). Hopefully the Brudlos brothers will find an artist who can commit to this project and we’ll see more of what seemed like an interesting story set in the Alpha-Shade universe.
