Ho ho! Caught me red-handed.

It's true. The reboot/undo/redo was a bit of an odd choice. The short version is that back in April of 2008, I hired a professional artist/coloring team to take over the comic. The "calamity" of it all being that when I would check stats, most readers would backtrack to where I stopped and the new artist took over, and then bounce right after they clicked "back" to see my last page.

Long story short, I ran out of money and had to lay off my colorist. Then the cutbacks led to my artist, too. the choice SEEMED clear... "let's restart! And let's fix all the story goobers!" But as weeks passed into a few months, I realized the pages I had in my possession were really, truly great. In spite of the bad economy, I determined to push forward keeping all of the expensive artwork and rehiring the artist even if it meant a couple less packs of Twinkies each month.

The good news is this: YES! There *WILL* be significant changes to Act II and III. The digitgrade legs were a terrible trial to draw for a non-furry artist such as myself. I agree: it was a tough decision to rescind that "upgrade", but now the Mercadians look much as they did in "1.0".

So now what we has is a partial redo. In past polls, it was determined that the severe discongruity in design was throwing people off. At the urging of my forum staff and many longtime readers, I decided to press forward from Act V while "fixing" the story leading up to that point behind-the-scenes. I'm just glad I didn't decide to do this AFTER I had completed an additional three to four arcs more. For that crime, I would most likely have been cast to the doldrums of the Internet trough for all eternity.

Thanks for the review, Tangent. :)
