Several months ago, we watched a Roomba fly over in Questionable Content. It was the culmination of a dozen or so strips of antics with the Anthro-PCs (mini-robots) playing with (and modifying) a Roomba, but outside of a quick shout-out a month later it seemed likely we’d not see the Roomba again. Today’s QC had the Roomba return unexpectantly, and also had me flash back to the movie Batteries Not Included, with flying miniature robots who came to Earth to create children. (Indeed, even the number of “children” are the same.) As to how? Well, in a world with Anthro-PCs, is self-replicating robots so unexpected?
