Order of the Stick

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised and impressed at the recent Order of the Stick update which linked the death of the Draketooth clan with Vaarsuvius’s use of the Familicide spell against the dragon that had threatened V’s family several years back. Today’s update though… well, I have to admit to being disturbed by the enormity of what V had done… assuming V isn’t overthinking things. Whether or not the Familicide spell killed all the people V thinks it did (and I have my doubts), it’s V’s reaction which is of interest. There’s genuine remorse here, now that V has seen first-hand what the spell has done to people who were no threat to V’s family. Personally, I suspect Draketooth is still alive and V is going to face the vengeance of a family patron who’s lived with the corpses of his dead family for the past couple of months. And even if V’s crime isn’t as great as V believes… well, remorse could be considered the first step on the road to redemption. And that is often a fascinating story to watch.
