Juanthuur: Gatecrash

Juanthuur: Gatecrash is the sequel to Juanthuur: One Way or Another, following Faevv a couple years after she made her way to the Realm of the Gods and started working for Merlu, the God who had empowered her people, and the First, who rules the Gods (or rather, tries to make sure they obey certain “non-interference” rules established after the First’s brother Lok annihilated a world he was supposed to watch over). While the story starts out with Faevv investigating potential threats to the world-gates which the Gods use to travel from world to world, she’s soon off trying to track down a demi-god, the child of a god and mortal (and one of those “forbidden” things the First gets antsy about). From there the plot takes on additional twists with Merlu working with Faevv and the Juanthuur to alter the past, while the Juanthuur themselves face more mundane threats. Given that the comic’s been updating since 2003 (if you count both Juanthuur comics), and you have a comic that can be confusing in places and will take a few days to read through its archives… but which also possesses an interesting story concept that I have to recommend.
